Thanks to the new road marking regulations that the General Directorate of Highways is carrying out , through the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda , the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) has decided to implement new road markings to improve coexistence and road safety on the roads. The new signals that the DGT has implemented These new signs have been baptized by the DGT as “dragon teeth”, “broken edge lines”, “return arrow sign” and “green lines”, below we explain the functionality of each one. CEA services protect you, become a member from only €85/year and you will have unlimited recourse for fines and complete legal advice at any time of the day. Dragon teeth traffic sign The dragon's teeth are shaped like triangles and are placed on the edge of the rail tracks, towards the inside (as shown in the image). The purpose of its shape and position is to make the driver feel that the road is getting narrower and that he should slow down . Its length is 30 meters and it is located before a problematic section, so that the driver realizes that he must be more careful and drive with caution and at a lower speed.
Dragon teeth traffic sign Traffic sign broken edge lines The “ broken edge lines”, for their part, have a zigzag shape and are located on the sides of the road. Its function is both to alert the user that a zebra crossing is approaching and also to inform them that they are entering a limited speed zone . Traffic sign broken edge lines This pilot signal has been drawn at kilometers 293,652 and 294,356 of the N-122. The functionality and effectiveness of these new signs will define whether they will be part of the new road marking regulations throughout Spain or if they C Level Contact List will become just a test that did not work. Return arrows sign The function of this new signage is to indicate that areas are approaching where overtaking is prohibited, so we must return to our lane as soon as possible. new dgt signs arrows both directions Due to the benefits that return arrows have in terms of road safety, their implementation is being expanded to stretches of road where there is a continuous line in the opposite direction and to stretches where these arrows coexist for both directions of traffic.
For now, there are four of these experimental signs found on four roads of the national network: N-120 between kilometers 60 and 97, N-320 between kilometers 196 and 203 and N-110 between kilometers 150 and 156. green lines new green line dgt signals These green lines have been applied as characteristic road markings for the section (green line parallel to the shoulder road marking), which generates the sensation for drivers of a narrowing of the section or road (tunnel effect) which induces them to moderate their speed. They are longitudinal road markings, green in color, parallel to the shoulder road marking, as seen in the image. Its usefulness is precise in those sections of conventional roads that have long straights or wide, horizontal curves, which can give drivers an erroneous feeling of security that leads to exceeding the speed limits. _________________ C Level Contact List |
